I bought this in antique shop for 25 English pounds I loved the colour and the picture so I bought it .the man in the shop told me it was by George Jones but can not confirm that.the number on bottom is y 7 9 3
No marks on the base?

Yes, it is George Jones- Crescent china. If it says &Sons on it, then it dates from 1874-1920’s. no son would be earlier. Here is a link to the maker’s marks from the potteries.org, a great resource for all Staffordshire pottery:http://thepotteries.org/mark/j/jonesgeo.html
