Purchased these lovely bowls on ebay about 20 years ago and was given the name of the technique, but completely forgotten, so any collectors who can enlighten me I would appreciate it! Round bowl is 23 cms across and 5 cms high; oval bowl is 37 x 14 cms and 2.5 cms high. Gorgeous patterns appear to be within the glass rather than etched or transferred on exterior. Quite thin glass, gold rim worn.

These are Chance Glass and the design is called Calypto, by Michael Harris, 1959.
Chance Glass was a British Company and this range of Fiestaware was a great hit for them.
There is plenty on the net about them but here is a great start:

I meant to say too Carol that this design is interesting for me as an Australian. It is so clearly a eucalypt, with buds and flowers!

Many thanks for your informative response - my son and family are in Melbourne so that is interesting that this is a eucalypt (I have a huge one in my garden in Christchurch too!).
