Buffet and Server

I was given this server and the matching buffet. It supposedly belonged to my grandmother. My mom and her sister disagree on its origin. I'm interested in it's history. On the back of each piece is handwritten in black the words Basset No. 1 Server and Basset No. 1 Buffet. I've tried searching online but cannot find anything that matches it. It definitely has a veneer finish that is peeling and chipped.
