I'm new to collecting and I came across this bowl at a flea market. There is a very light, very small embossed Fenton mark on the bottom of the bowl. I cannot get the mark to show up in any pictures, that's why I didn't post one. I tried to find this, or anything similar to it, in some Fenton catalogues from my library, but they are limited to what they have. I couldn't find anything like it online either. Does anyone know what the pattern is called, when it was made, what the official color was named and a possible value?
I did read in one of the books that Fenton made "prototypes" of pieces and then decided not to make any more for production. These pieces were stored in a warehouse usually but sometimes would find their way into a collector's hands, making them a very limited piece. I have no idea if this is the case with this bowl or not.
Any help would be so appreciated. Also, how do you go about dating a piece, whoever the maker, if there are no marks on it? Again, thank you so much for any information!
