This is a woman's size 8 pocket watch with a serial # H5232 on the movement and according to info on the Illinois Watch Co. table of date of mfg. was 1873-1876. JTS & CO. stands for John T. Stuart the first president and an investor of the Illinois Watch Co. and a friend of Abraham Lincoln and a Lawyer himself. It is a hunter case highly engraved with a village scene on the front and a floral design on the back of case. The case has a hallmark of 18 (circled) and a presidental seal with a eagle holding olive branches in it's claws. The movement has the name THE PRINCESS engraved on it. I have owned the watch for over 30 years. Information is very difficult to find and if anyone has any thing to add it will be greatly appreciated. As you can see it is a stem wind watch with a small arm that is pulled from the side to set the hour and minute. I am not sure of all the information I have listed and any info or correction would be appreciated.
