Recent find: Baby plate gold medal St. Louis c.c. co.

I don't know anything about this plate other than the fact that it caught my eye in an estate sale, and it is extremely cool!

Can you tell me what the mark on the bottom says please. The picture is very reminiscent of Kate Greenaway's work. But research didn't turn up this particular illustration. I think her work is a lot more detailed, but I'm not sure.

My Grandmother used to make Quilts with the “Sun Bonnet Sue” pattern which looked a lot like these 2 little girls. Probably based on a nursery rhyme or children’s book.

It is marked with a shield helmet at the top gold medal Saint Louis C.C.CO.
