A Tomes, Son & Melvain M1860 enlisted cavalry sword. I picked it up at a sale in Ohio around 15 years ago. The ricasso has the letter T only. Originally I thought it was maybe Tennessee or Texas. But after some research I discovered the company Tomes, Son and Melvain. Very small numbers were made. And very few good examples are known to exist. Mine has a lovely chocolate brown patina.
