Hello, I was curious if anyone out there could tell me anything about this Buddha face I found? I was at a thrift store and there was a bin of stuff that just came in and this just stuck out at me. They weren’t going to sell it to me because they said the boss had to price it first. I talked them in to giving it to me for ten bucks and I feel like I got a good deal. It appears to be made out of white ceramic. On the back there is a spot where it looks like someone scratched off the price tag, or something, and you can see the color. Also, has a sticker that says “MADE IN GERMANY HANDIWORK.” I can’t find any info on it and it would be nice to know when it was made, or anything about it really. Thank you in advance!!

The Germans actually have a world wide expo that travels using the Made in Germany logo. The tour shows the handiwork of craftsmen as they go from apprentice to journeyman to master. There is a difference from items marked Handmade in Germany. Both have exhibitions but the Made in usually signifies a higher quality where the Handmade would indicate items made by an individual master. Both tours are usually new journeymen who have just finished their apprenticeship.
