old (?) aluminum handle from something

This spotted and picked up at the curb the other day outside our gate at the shop, where it most likely bounced off some scrapper's trailer or something. I was hoping it might be brass, but turns out its just solid cast aluminum with a very dark 'patina' on it. All I did to clean it up was brush the mud off with a soft brush.

As seen, its about 7" long. The only marking is a "W" on one end of its back. (pic 4) Interestingly enough, that's also the end where its mounting hole has been drilled noticeably 'off center'...dunno what that might say about it.

I'm totally guessing it is from something with an 'industrial/commercial/agricultural/etc' usage, probably in an outdoor environment, simply due to its rather rough casting and that patina. Definitely wasn't for "furniture" anyways...??
