I needed a table for my sewing machine and obtained this from Freecycle.org. Does anyone else Freecycle? The table is cool, it says Mt. Vernon Model inside one drawer and also has an inkwell. I've seen it with the White/ bronze sewing machine and it is awesome! Now to find that machine!

That is one awesome table . I have several White sewing machines , but I have never heard of a bronze one . Is the machine itself bronze or is that the decortations on it ?
I have a very nice White machine that would fit this table that would look great in it .

I believe this model cabinet is 1926 era. If you google White/Bronze sewing machine you should find a link showing a restored absolutely Beautiful piece!

cindyjune : I did google White/Bronze sewing machine and I found the machine you were talking about . I can see why you would want one like that to go into your awesome cabinet . I have never seen one of these in person and after I googled it I realized that I had seen pictures of one before . They are beautiful machines . My White machine is shinny black with gold color decals . It is all bright and in nice shape . I have a parlor type cabinet for a White that I plan on putting it into.

Your machine sounds awesome as well. I am still sewing on old reliable Singer but would love to find one of those bronze Whites.

cindyjune : I just love these old machines . I have quite a collection . There are two treadle machines in my livingroom . One is the first machine I bought when I started working just out of high school . It is a White , but it never was a pretty machine . Most of the decals were gone off it when I bought it . But I used it for years in my bedroom while still living at home . I used to make a lot of my own cloths . I even made my wedding dress on it before I got married . That was 40 years ago . I have thought about putting the nice White machine I have into the treadle cabinet , but there is a long history of my not so pretty White machine . I just can not bring myself to part with it . I also think that for myself I need to keep the not so pretty White in it's rightfull home .
