Hello. The sticker says ‘sand int’d [or inc’d], crouton oil bottle, ?1792 [or 7 or something else]. Can anyone tell me about it? I’m afraid the second I find out it’s interesting... I will break it! I can’t see how that would be a date for it’s creation... but I suppose it’s possible, and so here I am. 12 sides. Half-dollar for scale. Thanks very much!

I’m going to follow up on myself, been researching. :) I think it’s a pretty old bottle. My family is from Maine for a couple centuries. Grampa was a doctor- I have one of his pharmacy bottles- and fond of finding things he could label and display and explain. So I guess mystery solved. But it sure is a pretty little thing.

Update. Umber two. Not a very illustrious first post BUT... I misread it. It says croton oil. Not crouton. Maybe I wanted it to be crouton. It’s definitely a medical bottle. I apologize for the runaround! Still, very old. Haha.

Very interesting post- I had to look croton oil....it was probably a good idea that the bottle held such a small quantity. ;-)
