Hello, does this item look familiar ? this piece is large at 13 " and weighs at 10 pounds , I wondered if anyone knew what it is .I was told a doorstop but it seems odd there is a hole made , and appears well made and even the seams were finished , Thanks ahead for any comments .

How about a planter instead? (at 10lbs, I guess it'd make a good doorstop too, though?) I'm also genuinely curious what about it makes you think 'antique'?

hey, yeah well maybe that makes sense , I think its a large doorstop made to be a planter ,good idea I think its very old from the style and work to make this , there are grainy areas that I think it was sand cast . whats odd is usually it would be fastened together with a screw , so the worked quite hard in finishing the seems. on the handle edges , so ?who knows , Lol
