This is an interesting railroad lantern I found in the mud of the Agawam River in Wareham, MA 50 years ago. It was near a raised bed of a defunct rail line that ran in the late 1800s. I brought it home and my Dad electrified it and had it hanging in his front yard for 50 years. I retrieved it when we sold his house but after researching this piece I have yet to find what it is. Please disregard to wiring. The clear fresnel lenses are intact and although someone said it could be a caboose lantern, I doubt it. It is made of some sort of pot metal with bayonet attachments on the bottom. Any assistance will be appreciated…
