Finally found a willcox Gibbs sewing machine that is portable and can be taken apart from the Westinghouse motor and base so I can put it on my Willcox and Gibbs base I restored many years ago I use for a computer table. I found drawers to it too. I posted the base on CW years ago. I've gotten the paperwork on eBay will post that when I get it. I'm missing the aluminum foot pedal on motor but I will find one. Last pattern date is Aug 28 1894 (3) #664277
Motor runs great made by Westinghouse for them.
Came with it's wood case that needs a little work.

      yougottahavestuff, Very Cool. :-)

Unfortunately, some of your pictures are quite dark. :-(

If yours looks like hotairfan's Willcox & Gibbs machine, he has a great close up of the patent information engraved on the cloth plate:

      https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/309514-1894-willcox-and-gibbs-chain-stitch-sewing

I gave him links to listings for the three August 28, 1894 patents I could find; however, I'll put them here in your post as well:

      https://patents.google.com/patent/US525042

      https://patents.google.com/patent/US525043

      https://patents.google.com/patent/US525044

I might as well give you all the other links:

      A profile of Gibbs:

      https://ismacs.net/willcoxandgibbs/james-edward-allen-gibbs.html

It looks like Willcox & Gibbs survived until 1973!:

      *snip*

Unlike other competitors, Willcox & Gibbs survived competition with the [patent] pool, and remained in business selling machines for industrial use until 1973 (Bays, 2007, p. 263). Most modern-day chain stitch (single-thread) machines sew a stitch that is based on Willcox & Gibbs’.

      yougottahavestuff, You're welcome. :-)

A guru of sewing machines? Nay, sir. The creators of all those sites I link are the gurus.

While I'm at it, I suppose I should link your converted treadle here, huh?:
