Picked this up today at an estate sale. You can find some of the most interesting things at estate sales that people leave behind or doesn't mean anything to the family.
I'm taking a wild guess as to what this was..... did it have a top on it ?
Is it a Desk Caddy to put your paperclips in ?
Doesn't look like it was over used, none of the names on it show any wear. Some small chips around the windshield area.
Automotive Badges on the Car : Ferrari, MG, Rolls Royce, Singer, Cooper, Austin, AC, Triumph, Jaguar, Bentley, Saab, Mercedes, Vauxhall, Simla, Volvo, Hillman,
Measures about 8 inches long x 5 inches wide
Any additional information will be added to this post.

      Foundaroundtown, Cool. :-)

Google Lens found a couple of twins:

      *snip*

A vintage porcelain cigar ashtray in the form of a racecar decorated with automotive badges including Ferrari, Bentley, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, AC, Saab, Rolls-Royce. Auston, Triumph Motors.

      Auto form cigar holder
      Dual cigar rests
      Vibrant colored automotive badges
      Circa second half 20th Century
      Vintage condition
      Size: 7"L. x 5" W. x 3-1/2" H.

      *snip*

Vintage Pipe Rest Tray - Vintage Pipe Holder - Cigar Ashtray - Vintage European Motorsports - Tobacco Accessory - Valet Tray - Car Figurine

      Vintage from before 2000

      *snip*

      https://www.etsy.com/listing/1383654236/vintage-pipe-rest-tray-vintage-pipe

Dunno about the vintage estimates in either listing, because of the name "SINGER":

      *snip*

      SINCE 2009

      *snip*

      https://singervehicledesign.com/

The etsy one has a "JAPAN" sticker on the bottom.

Somehow, the descriptions of cigar or pipe accessory seem unconvincing. The size and configuration of those twin depressions don't seem well designed for cigar/pipe rests and/or ash repositories, and they also seem a bit skimpy for wallets.

Given the dimensions, I'd go with desktop caddy.

Foundaroundtown, You're welcome, but I was too hasty in my research of Singer automobiles:

      http://www.singerownersclub.co.uk/home/company-history.aspx

So both of those vintage estimates from the other owners/purveyors look correct.

      I had seen that too.
      The piece is pretty cool
