Base markings place this stein to be from 1894. It has the inlaid Lid of Anheuser Busch. This stein is the .25L size....
Was wondering about the mid lettering and whether or not this was the artist name.
GEGEN NACHBILDUNG GESCHÜTZT means Protected Against Copying....Thanks to M.P. Kunst for this info....

Great stein, I'm curious about the 1994 date on the base or maybe those numbers mean something else??

I have found some info for you. Unfortunately, 1968 is a form number not the date of its manufacture which was in 1994. The II is roman numeral for it's size..2 liters. Stein-collectors.org

Just out of curiosity: does the stein have storks in the side designs as was common before 1890?

As you can read, that website gives an indication of what this stein could be worth.
Congratulations. You did more than well.
