Here's an unusual large Chinese porcelain urn with lid. 65 cm high. Obviously export ware with the 'Paris' judgement' decoration. One of the three ladies is missing, but who cares. How old or young wood you say it is ? Unfortunately I can't translate the text on the bottom. I hope you can ?

well our Nemesis from Gotheborg com call this Yang Cheng Wu Chen Nian Zhi-and they translated this as Canton Wu Chen Year Made, which IMO is an historical etymological fallacy because canton is redefined as Guangzhou since 1918

the more poetic translaters call this fabricated in the City of Rams in 1928, that,s the hillbilly translation

and whij is this supposed to be 1928, because of the Wuchen part of the mark , the symbols with the backward sloping T

we are not out of the woods yet because the chinese lunar calender is hopping with intervals of 60 years so we can choose 1806-1866-1926-1986 etc

actually the origianal pieces are mid qianlong to late qianlong ( a so called westernizers) , but this aint real, it is static , probably used a decal , the tonality is wrong

IMO the get rid of aphrodity and they swapped it with eros

so they want to represent 1928 , probably it is just represented,

are we out of the woods yet, probably not, as far as i can see the kong -qiang is out , which is the cavity at the bottom , who were a hype around the 20 ties, this is a non cavity= WU KONG -QIANG so probably a bit later

why the hillbilly translation City of Rams, personnaly i think the Taiping Imperial Readings -but the social antroposofical meaning trough history change all the time

chinese were poor during early chinese history ( probably due to the lack of crop rotation and and the social stratificatie was also a burden)

we get s sort of DEUS EX MACHINA SOLUTION ( immortal ex machina solution, hahaha) the immortals infested the town the accompagnied bij rams, and the famine dissapeared and the rams got a sort honorary titel as ihuang shengli zhe-- They who beat the famine, so they became a symbol of good fortune

Thanks again ! So all in all a Republican China export ware from 1928. Not often we're told the exact age of a piece of Chinese porcelain.

so they want to represent 1928 , probably it is just represented, sorry it is a 9misonderstanding typo ) probably it is bit newer then 1928

I considered bidding on it, not as an antiquity, but as decoration. But thanks to you, I didn't. Thanks again !
