    These decals originally distributed through the NYC MTA would have externally marked fleet vehicles, such as a subway car and bus. The two-tone M logo that represented the organization existed from the late-1960s to early-1990s.

    TRANSIT indicated the subway system, while SURFACE was the above-ground fleet. Lastly, SIRTOA is an acronym for Staten Island Rapid Transit Operating Authority, a subsidiary of the MTA.

      They had a great large round wall plaque of about 60 inches I almost bought but opted for a coat of arms. It was about 12 years ago left over from the Steinway Mansion in Astoria N.Y., I still have a pic of it !~
