I think this is a bookmark ..it is hinged. Enamel, pretty floral design. I cant find anything like it online

What are the dimensions? It appears there's a loop at the base? I'm wondering if it's some type of lapel or pocket piece? Maybe something was supposed to hang from that..like a pocket watch?
A chatelaine, a decorative belt hook or clasp worn at the waist with a series of chains suspended from it. Each chain is mounted with useful household appendages such as scissors, thimbles, watches, keys, smelling salts, and household seals. You have the most important part; the belt hook (clasp) with a loop to attach the chain. Complete chatelaine are rarely found and the question remains what is actually a complete chatelaine because the owner decided what to attach.
Could be gilded silver. Search for marks on the back and add more close up images of the whole item from all directions.

Funny coincidence..I was watching an old episode of antiques roadshow today..and they had a men's watch with a chatelaine..
