This fish planter is a David Stewart of Lions Valley. This find is a case of education. I have been trying hard to increase my knowledge and break out of my collecting box. Therefore I have been reading various collectors blogs, certainly reading here at Collectors Weekly and buying reference books. This Friday I hit an estate sale and to my surprise recognized this fish. She is a beauty and I am all excited that my studies have found me another path to wander down.
Thank you to all who are continuing to bring me new knowledge and in this case, to the collectors blog A La Modern (I have no ties to them) for educating me on David Stewart.

I would like to add that I am wide open to any sites or books that anyone recommends. I love to learn just about anything regarding vintage or antiques!

Thanks Scadinavian. The pineapple vase is Metlox, Tropicana series from the 50s. I am on a mission for the whole set. Sadly they are few and far between. I am also on the hunt for S Brastoff eggs, and well, a zillion other things. : )
