    A promo item from way back used to take canning jars out of the hot water bath. Top is stamped "Trade with W. L. Baer and you won't get burnt" Garage sale find this w/e.

      Your close, but not quite there. This a pie lifter. For lifting a pie out of a hot oven. Try it it with it with hot full canning jars and you have few on the floor. Very nice advertising kitchen item. Great find.
