I found this radio at a rummage sale for $2 I have been trying to reasearch it on the internet and can't seem to find anything. On the front it says Empire and I can't find anything about that company. On the back it says made in Japan. I took the back off and I could not find any info there either. When I google images I have only found a few that say empire and they were smaller pocket versions. I would appreciate any info anyone could provide me. Thanks

these were made in the mid-1960s-they were a cheap radio here in birmingham-england- i remember them in the shops in the city centre--my age then was 19 in 1966-i think they took a small 9 volt battery-1966 is when i saw them first i think.

This was my first portable radio when I was growing up in Canada. I live in England these days. It got me interested in Short-Wave radio in general and the BBC World Service in particular.
