Picked up recently at a garage sale, but not totally sure of it's origin.
Believe it came from Europe and possibly Holland.
It has a small bulb that screws into top of the red pole and has an electric cord that runs from bottom with a plug for a wall socket.
    That cord has been disconnected.

If anyone can shed some light on this item, it would be greatly appreciated.

I believe wall lights like these are called pin up lamps. They were pinned to the wall rather than installed to the household wiring so they were favoured for places where you wanted a wall sconce but not the expense of an electrician. They were very popular in the Leave it to Beaver days. They were often used over beds. Many still remain in use in cottage country.
