We came across this "Raggedy Santa" many years ago and he has graced our holiday home ever since. Reminds us of Dan Akroyd terrorizing the Christmas party in "Trading Places" with the scruffy fur and bleary-eyed face with a lecherous leer. Rarely do you find a doll with so much character!
We have always wondered who the maker might be. It is cloth (face) & felt (body) with vinyl boots & belt. Height is about 13 inches and if we had to guess the age we would say 1950's. The face is painted cloth & looks kind of like an Anna Lee or Chad Valley doll in style, but we are pretty confident it is not by either of those companies. The oversize hands and feet should give some clue, but we can't find anything similar. Any thoughts?

Amazingly frightening! Love it! We have a couple of creepy Santas too, I will share a pic soon.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Trix... unfortunately, the photos can't do justice to just how out-of-character this Kringle is. Still hoping for some hints about a maker, however.
If he had a Felt face, my best guess would "Lenci" but he is an odd one for sure. I hope the mystery is solved. : )
