Princess Elizabeth in the uniform of a patrol leader of the girl guides. Printed in England by Alf Cooke Ltd., Leeds & London. Poster 19 X 14-1/2 marked on back, British Information services 30 Rockefeller Plaza New Yourk City. Along with King George the VI and Queen Elizabeth. The King & Queen are marked Dorothy Wilding. A definite wartime image. A young woman in uniform. She was pictured in her girl guide uniform a number of times throughout the war years, sometimes with her younger sister also in uniform. The serious side of the young princess.
"Princess Elizabeth is in her eighteenth year and a wealth of conjecture and rumour is a foot as to whom she will marry. When this picture was taken it was anticipated that the future Queen would marry one of the young men who were invited to visit the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, which the Royal family called their very own home. Princess Elizabeth attired in the uniform of a first aid patrol leader, photographed in Windsor Great Park on August 17, 1943."
