Some friends in the process of clearing out a relative's estate dropped off a box of odds & ends they thought we might like ~ including the little plastic box you see above.
Well.... we like !
It seems that the person had stopped at a rock shop back in 1965 and purchased this little sample of crystalline gold for less than 5 bucks, tossed it in a drawer and forgot about it. The receipt states that it is just under 13 grains, but the greater value is in the form in which the gold is in. I have been told the current value is well over $100.
