I grew up with this piece displayed at home. At some point early on my dad with his big dutch hands fumbled the piece and dropped it breaking her hat. He of course glued it back on. My mom refers to this incident from time to time -- having seven kids in the house it was next to impossible to keep fine china intact. The piece is very elegant, with the wind blown effect. It always made an impression on me. A beautiful gift. Thank you for the post!
