Micro Mosaic has stolen my heart, and in the first place those early jewels from 1800-1860. I still admire the infinite patience and craftsmanship that this requires to make such beautiful things!
These two plaques of black Onyx with very tiny tesserea from two different birds on a branch. They do not have the same size but it's always possible to make earrings, ring, little brooch. They are so funny to watch. I'm still looking for a jeweler who can set them in the old fashioned way ? Do you know such jeweler?
I was surprised to see one of my Micro Mosaic brooches (also on this page, the peasant lady on a cushion) to see on a film about this subject. If you want to learn more you can link to: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/14896068
