This is a 1942 Craftsman 26" Jig Saw That originally sold for $42.50 w/ Craftsman 1/3 HP motor, however this has a "Domestic Electric Company" motor dated 1919. Yes, it still works

Sorry but Domestic only existed until 1929 when Black and Decker purchased it. Also this is a 1/5 H.P. Motor and I fail to see anything that says Craftsman or 1942.... maybe it's just my old eyes?
So many of the Craftsman products were manufactured by Black and Decker up until the 1990's when Sears, Roebuck and Co changed over to Ryobi as there manufacture of craftsman power tools.
Gentlemen,let me clear this up. This is in fact a 1942 Craftsman(I have the owners manual) and was built by Dunlap (Tom Dunlap who was hired by Sears& Roebuck to head the Hardware Dept.and was greatly responsible for making craftsman a quality product). In 1942 this saw sold for $42.50 w/ a Craftsman 1/3 hp motor. HOWEVER, this saw when I bought it had a" Domestic Electric Co." 1/5 hp motor (smaller than it should have had) BTW, the Domestic Electric Co.motor is fairly rare itself. Also, Craftsman products have been manufactured by a vast and wide variety of companies, although Black & Decker was never one(http://vintagemachinery.org/craftsman/manufacturers.aspx). The majority of power tools being made by King Seeley during the 50's &60's and Simpson during the 70's
