I bought this from a second hand shop for $7 in NZ
It is made of pewter and is very heavy.
on the back it is inscribed as follows.
FORT WAYNE-ERECTED IN 1794 BY GENERAL ANTHONY WAYNE TO SECURE THE NORHWEST TERRITORY FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
The hall mark says as follows.
OLDE COUNRY REPRODUCTIONS
BUILT 1823
PEWTAREX tm
YORK
PENNSYLVANIA.
and there is a picture within the hallmark of a house in the hills.
I'd love know the age of this piece if anyone knows anything about these, also if they are very collectable?
Thanks for having a look.
PS to I'v had to resubmit this as it was recategorised and put into tobacciana, this is not an ash tray and is the size of a dinner plate.
Thanks.
