I found this in a box of items from my 94 yr old Aunt and have no idea what it is... It kind of reminds me of a button, since it's the right size. I'm really stumped- any clues? Thanks

    Regards,
    Pam

It's a coat/cape clasp. It would normally have a identical piece on the other side but with a hook that fits into the loop part. Does that make sense? It appears to be carved Bakelite from the 1940's! Nice!
