I'm looking for any information on this Cartier Ladies Tank Antique Watch. Pretty sure the numbers on the back read YG 7727 1 and then under it 7279. I also understand that the band is unique as well. Does anyone have any info on this watch??

The "Swiss Made" seem to be missing from the dial. You need to find a authorized Cartier dealer in your area and see if it is fact a "Real" one. It looks like the newer model "Tank Louis Cartier" which is a 18K watch with a different strap. For you to compare here is a link to the Cartier website with the watch I named earlier .

I am not a Carrier expert but the 'D' buckle on the leather strap is a collector's item. Also the 'x' for 10 O'clock might have a secret Carrier signature if you look with a loop. If the movement is signed 'European Watch Co.' , you got yourself a highly desirable collector's item. Thanks for showing, nice piece.

Sorry for the spelling, my computer auto correct Cartier to Carrier.

Thank you both so much for the info! I am thinking of selling this, it's a gift from an old boyfriend and I just can't get myself to wear it. His father was a collector of antiques and watches in particular, so I'm pretty sure it's a ligit watch (unless he's as much of a liar as his son!). I have no idea how to go about selling it, anyone have any suggestions? I thought I would go by the authorized Cartier dealer in the San Diego area as recommended by kerry and at least get some info on it (hopefully, so far everyone has been stumped that I've shown it to) but do you think that's also the best route for selling??

You can email pictures of the watch to Sotheby or Christies watch department for a free guide price/valuation. They can sell it in the auction for you for the best money but the seller's premium can be 15% of the hammer price! However, once you know the guide price, perhaps you can try eBay. Best of luck.

Just stumbled on this.. I believe it's a Bueche Girod that collaborated with Cartier back in the 70's .. The case No is not from Cartier but from BG

Thanks for the additional information! I still have the watch, cartier themselves weren't much help with info, they just want to sell it at their auction, lol!!
