Greetings. I have a flagpole with a small metal inscription attached near the base that states "Presented to the Sea Scout Ship 'Viking' Unit 36, by W.R.C. 59, Watertown, May, 1941." This was something my dad had bought some time ago from an estate sale. I was wondering if any veterans or collectors of militaria can enlighten me as to the type of vessel, place of origin, and some history behind the ship. I have tried searching online but, so far, have been unsuccessful. Thanks!
