Such a cute little rouge or lipstick compact with bevel mirror on back. Its 1 3/4 inches round. Originally I think this was silver plate, but that has long worn off, now the brass is showing. Small little silver marcasite doggy on a green enamel. His eye is a red stone or glass. Has a makers mark inside, I have no idea who made this, anyone know?

When I loop it, it has a patent no. 1973433 and F co and an upside down F inside a shield. If that helps. :-)

Thanks macpicker and tikiray! Yesterday you motivated me to check out my patent no. The patent was from 09/11/1934, to a Harry C. Foster. It even had the pictures of a basic compact similar to mine. He must have let others use his design like a company called Volupte. Once I keyed in the patent no. into the google search, there were other compacts similar, one had a marcasite greyhound.
Glad you found some info! I just love the compact!
