I picked up this piece at an auction on Sunday. I thought it was very different and unique. There is a sticker on it that says Libera Czech Republic. I looked and looked for information on this piece and then finally stumbled upon the information this morning and wanted to share. This was made by the Bohemia Crystalex Trading Liberec. Apparently the "Libera" line was made exclusively to sell in the USA and was imported by the Miller Import Company.
My pictures do not do the piece justice at all. The piece is very heavy and has two colors of glass. One side of the bowl has been cut out to show the white glass on the inside with an amber glass on the outside. It is cut flat and will lay flat on it's side. It has been laser etched "Libera" on the bottom of the bowl. Very interesting piece.
