    My grandfather, Jess Willard (left), with Babe Ruth in 1922. Not sure of location. This was the year prior to my grandfather's last professional boxing career.

      The Babe was listed at 6'2"....is the angle odd or is your grandfather a giant? It's such a cool pic. (BTW...Jess is listed at 6' 6 1/2")

      yes jess was a big man especially back in those days he was a giant

      he really took a beating by jack dempsey i watched it on you tube - broke his nose and jaw knocked out his teeth. what a fight you have to be very proud of your grandpa for being a great fighter. all fighters take a beating sometime in there career.
