A youth reader from a school library from 1944.
Story is about a dog named Yank and his exploits with his owner Fred during the war in Africa.
Author is Mark Bartman
Illustrated by Diana Thorne who evidently was a very well known artist of the time and also wrote childrens books. Dogs were one of her favorite subjects.
I believe this was a series as I have found "Yank in Sicily" on line as well.
