    PickerMan
    (1 item)

I bought this with some other antique coins and I was wondering if anybody could identify it. It is about 38mm. There is a some sort of design involving a wreath on the obverse and on the reverse there is some sort of quadrilateral with rays coming from it.

At 38mm it should be silver, an 8 reales coin

Thanks. I scratched it and it is silver. Should I clean it?

In that condition you might try to clean it enough to see if you can read some of the legends. Do not use abrasive cleaners. For starters use warm water and dish soap with a soft cloth. If you have any jewel luster you might try that or an ultasonic cleaner. If you can read the date and mintmarks then you will learn a lot more about the coin.
