This Maytag Washing Machine Engine as far as I can tell is a model 82,9 fin, long gas tank design. It belonged to my grandpa. I've had it for 30 years just sitting in the basement so I decided to get it out. Initially all I wanted to do was get it running. As I fussed with it, I ended up tearing it apart cleaning it up and painting it. All told, the only thing I really did was clean it, paint it and put new gaskets on it. When I put back together it fired on the 1st pull. Even the old spark plug still worked! The Quaker State muffler was my grandpa's aftermarket deal. I thought it was cool so I left it on.
