I bought this for couple dollars at the Goodwill, I picked it up and put it down thinking it was cheap plastic (maybe it is!) then I noticed it sat on nice wood platform, then I noticed it was very intricate and I think hand painted, It is small, as it is next to my keys. All the pieces are halves and hooked together it seems, if anyone has information on this please let me know, I am at a loss! AGAIN!!! haha!

Hi Toracat, these are celluloid (a blend of nitrocellulose and camphor) figures and date to before WWII. There are many themes that generally portray earlier Japanese everyday life and costume. You can find a number of these by browsing back through this site. The bridge is a common prop for a severa themes. Very nice buy, Jim
