I have here a 4-5" in diameter, round, trinket dish. It is beautifully hand painted but can't for the life of me find out any information on the artist. Right up underneath the flower is signed A. Filey. Where can I find out about this person or am I even seeing it right? I might not be seeing the proper spelling at all. I do know that this is at least 35-40 years old but am hoping it is alot older.

It was very popular to paint your own pieces at one point in the 20th century, so it could be that. Also, there used to be a ton of artists painting away for porcelain makers, so it could be that. I guess I am going the long way to say that these names are almost impossible to track.
