These earrings are masterpieces. They were purchased at a vintage store for far less than what they are probably worth. They are inscribed with the name "Vintoge". I did searches on the internet, but a jewelry design house or manufacturer for that name does not appear to exist. Upon close inspection the rubies appear very clear and appear to be fully faceted and they have an oily patina, which only precious stones seem to have.
The rubies are a bright raspberry red and when I saw these at the thrift store, I darted over there and grabbed them, mostly because I was enthralled by the grapevine design. The earrings appeared to have a yellow tone, perhaps it could be that the old rhodium plating might have oxidized, but the metal underneath it is still shiny. These clip-on earrings are a bit heavy in weight, but not uncomfortable to wear, they just feel like solid earrings.
I have heard of most of the designers listed on this website, but I have never heard of "Vintoge". If anyone has any knowledge or factual data about the designer or company that created these earrings by all means please write me. The earrings look regal and we plan to have them appraised, because whoever designed them took extreme time in designing and creating these earrings, which I feel are masterpieces.
I am interested in knowing more about "Vintoge" jewelry, so please share with us anything you may know, on this jewelry designer or manufacturer. Thank you!
