I found this chair at an estate sale awhile back. The guy had been a serious collector who saved all kinds of old furniture from floods, fires, etc. The chairs I purchased that day were all very old, oak or walnut, and totally destroyed. This is one I actually had to decide to throw it out or do something interesting with. It was an oak ladder back with no seat, all different color paints....it just looked bad.
This was my first go at shaker tape, I tried to match the color of the tape exactly with the milk paint I used. I think it came out pretty nice, considering it was my first try. Not too many people sit on it, but my two year old thinks the seat is her trampoline, so that is why it is stretched. Milk paint is very fun to use, and I use it quite a bit now. Thanks for looking!
