I was given a large collection of 78's, along with the floor model Victrola that my grandfather bought brand new. Although mostly undocumented, 5 of the records that appear most interesting are copyright dated 1945, by National Voice Library in Hollywood, CA. They are several speeches by F.D.R. from 1940.'41',42' and 1944. I've been unable to locate any similar pieces like these anywhere and would appreciate any help in determining if these are rare, or not. They play very well, with part one and two on each side, they are much thinner than a typical 78 and all have a second hole in them.

My mother (85) has a set of these records. She would love to get more info about them as well. Can't see to find anything on ebay or even Google!
It is my guess that they may not be worth a lot of money, although mine still play well. But...as owner/operator of a small frame shop, I've thought about putting them in a display, ...IF they are not worth much!
The FDR ones I could see selling in a specialized market such as eBay. Personally, I would love to own these records, you've got a good find in these records.
In regards to the person looking for more info on these recordings, check out this link, http://www.wfmu.org/MACrec/fdrsp.html. Of all the FDR 'for sale' sites I've seen, none have had these records in the listings, and if there is a collector interested, I'm all ears.
I too have this same FDR record collection that was given to me by my grandmother. Over the years I have never been able to find anything about them on the web. My friend last night some how found this site and was so excited and sent me this link. Please contact me with any information you may have on them.
