Hello. I came across this Notman CDV of a man on a beach. For some reason, it seems familiar to me, but I don't know why. Perhaps the subject is someone famous...or maybe this type of background was just popular for the era? I was wondering if anyone has seen it before... or if someone can help me to ID the man in the photo. Thanks!

what is he holding in his hands? what is a notman?
Hello. Notman is the name of the photographer, a rather well-known (I believe Canadian) photographer. I am not sure what he is holding.
