This little guy stands 5 inches tall and is made of silver plated brass. His head unscrews and also has holes. He is dressed in the old traditional miners uniform. This was a war souvenir brought back after WWII by a GI from Berchtesgaden where they have an old salt mine that has been in continual operation for about 500 years. My guess would be that this shaker was made in the 1920's - 1930's. Not sure where this will fit in...

Thanks every one. I also find it interesting that the little guy has his hands in his pockets, which is something that the old time Germans of my parent's generation thought was very disrespectful and typically American!
