Engraved Glass block/sculpture with "trolls" - Ake Bergqvist about 1975.

Ake Bergqvist, educated engraver for Strombergshyttan-Sweden in late 1960s to mid 1970s. After that engraver at Hovmantorps Glass some years and then art schools. Today he is a painting artist in Vaxjo.

This engraved glass block with Swedish trolls is a unique piece, composed and performed by my brother Ake Bergqvist about 1975. The block comes from Strombergshyttan and I think it's a design by either Rune Strand or Asta Stromberg in the 1960s. But the engraved motif is my brothers, made by him in one single piece. Size: About 21 x 21 cm, thickness 4 cm. It's quite deeply engraved with dentist's drill, the technique invented by Rune Strand about 1960 at Kosta glassworks.
