Quezal Art Glass

Glass made by the Quezal Art Glass and Decorating Company of Queens, NY. Quezal was founded by Martin Bach Sr, formally a chemist and batch mixer for L.C. Tiffany and Thomas Johnson, a highly skilled gaffer who also was previously employed at Tiffany. The fact that the quality of Quezal wares are thought to rival that of Tiffany is understandable given Bach's and Johnson's involvement. Additionally many of the other early employees of Quezal also shared employment history at Tiffany. Quezal produced art glass from 1902-24.
