I began restoring vintage tube radios about 3 years ago. I have only kept 4 of my tube restoration projects to date, a wonderful 1930's GE AM/SW and a 50's clock radio, a Philco 20 and an RCA 8R71. All are played regularly. I stumbled upon a Magnavox AM22 transistor. I owned one when I was 6 years old and kept it until I was in my late teens. No telling where it went. But I found one just like it and that began my transistor collection. At this point, it has no specific direction as to model, year or make although I've been focusing on Magnavox. My radios are not just for display. All work as they should and are played regularly. The little red AM22 spends lots of time out on the deck. (Read more)
