Tom, these are for you. The largest one is four and a half inches tall with the pestle that is 8 inches long. I also have one in pewter.
These were in the house as I grew up. Dad was in pharmaceuticals.

I use one like the first one in photo 1 in my kitchen , just the best for grinding spices it makes a very loud sound and it heavy. Best for this task as electric grinders create too much heat that destroys flavour.
I have a 19th century glass one as well but just for show at the moment.
